Preschool Area “Grand Re-Opening!”
The Capital Campaign project for the preschool renovation is complete! New lighting installed, walls repaired and painted, new molding, new flooring, new countertops. Cabinets are painted and the new furniture has been set up! We look forward to a “grand re-opening” this Sunday, August 9, with a more welcoming, updated space for our children, teachers, and visitors. Please contact Esther Soud Parker if you have questions.
Memorial Garden Update
Very special thanks to Jim Arges and Michael Arges for their gift (in memory of Kris, Catherine, Patty, and Elizabeth Arges) of adding a fountain feature to our Watts Street Memorial Garden. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful place to sit, grieve, remember, reflect, and pray, you are welcome here!
More Building/Accessibility Updates!
- The back stairwell on the Education Wing (near the Watts Street parking lot) has been freshly painted!
- The elevator repair work is complete and it can now be used! The numbers in the elevator now match our room numbers: G (Ground Floor) – Preschool Rooms, Fellowship Hall, Library, Offices. 1 – Sanctuary, Chapel, and Rooms in the 100s. 2 – Choir Room, Youth Room, and Rooms in the 200s. Stay tuned for new hallway signage and floor directories.
- Installation of a smoke beam in the sanctuary is in process. This will provide fire detection for our worship space.
- Coming soon! An accessible automatic door opener and keypad entry for the glass door Urban Ave. lot entrance (near the elevator). In addition: an updated keypad for the office door entrance and push button automated doors for the two hallway restrooms on the ground floor and the handicap accessible/gender neutral restroom on the first floor.
