Hannah Ministry

Fertility Grief Support Group for Women

The Hannah Ministry meets at WSBC on the second Friday of the month at 11:45 a.m. in Room 104B. Bring a lunch and a friend—dessert and coffee will be provided!

This group is for women who are currently struggling with fertility grief surrounding infertility, miscarriage, or the loss of an infant. All members of the community are welcome. The purpose of this group is as follows:

  • To explore how faith can inform and guide our grief and our hope
  • To provide support and fellowship
  • To provide a safe place to explore the spiritual, emotional, and mental effects of fertility grief

Care Team

Our care team is available on an as-needed basis to provide support to those struggling with infant loss, pregnancy loss, or infertility.

Hannah Service of Grief and Hope

Every year on the Thursday before Mother’s Day, the ministry sponsors a service of grief, hope, and worship for those who have experienced pregnancy/infant loss and infertility.

The story of Hannah in the Bible (I Samuel 1-2) tells us about a woman who, above all things, wanted to be a mother. She was a woman who experienced a physical yearning and sadness, while also hoping and praying that God would grant her the desires of her heart. In many different ways, each woman in this group has been Hannah. Our journeys to motherhood and our grief experiences vary, but we share in our desire to help women and their significant others walk the often isolating path of infertility and pregnancy/infant loss.
