Serve

At WSBC we are guided by love to take action in our world. Our engagement with the community beyond our walls grows out of specific promises we make in the church covenant: to promote peace and justice wherever we touch other lives, and to feed, house, and befriend the needy.

“Sounding the Call…”

Watts Street has a number of Mission Groups that follow the interests of its members as they seek to fulfill God’s calling to care for and connect with others.  Mission Groups are formed and disbanded in response to changing needs and spiritual callings. Periodically, a person or two will “sound a call” during worship for a new Mission Group, or re-sound a call to invite others to join an existing Mission Group.  If the work sounds like  “good news” and seems impossible to accomplish without God’s help, that is a good sign that the Spirit is leading us to undertake this mission!

Our Mission Groups usually align with one of the following categories for community connections:

Food & Shelter

Care & Compassion

Social Justice

Creation Care

International
