May Minute for Mission
The May Minute for Mission will be given by Anne Drennan, representing HELP, a service of Project Access of Durham County (PADC). PADC seeks to improve the health of uninsured Durham County residents by providing access to an organized system of comprehensive donated medical care. HELP (health equipment loan program) recycles, restores and reuses donated durable medical equipment for free loans to any Durham County neighbor in need. HELP is open two days each week inside The Scrap Exchange at The Shoppes of Lakewood (aka Lakewood Shopping Center) to receive donations and to lend equipment. WSBC members involved are Ann Stickel, Bob Roghelia, Bebe Guill, Emily McCoy, Joe Heflin, Mitch Heflin, Nate Hunzaker, Tina Ward, and Anne Drennan. Speak to any one of them for more information. Please be generous for this new service filling an unmet need in the community. May/June Mission Baskets
The mission baskets, located in the side foyer and the Fellowship Hall, will collect diapers for the Diaper Bank of North Carolina. The Diaper Bank helps cashstrapped parents by providing diapers for their young children. Diapers are a big expense! Please help by donating diapers of all sizes! Questions? See Susan Brooks.
Dedication of Glen Langstaff Habitat Home
The Glen Langstaff Habitat Home dedication will be held on Saturday, May 21st, at noon, at 113 N. Maple St., Durham. There will be a light picnic lunch served. All are invited. Feel free to bring a small housewarming gift or small love offering for the new homeowner Julissa.
