March 4, 11, 18
Adult Ed offers two Forums for adults in March during the Sunday School hour (9:45-10:45 am). Make plans now to take part in one of these opportunities to stretch your faith and engage with other Watts Streeters.
Getting Involved with God: Rediscovering the Old Testament
with Dr. Ellen Davis
Room 102
“This is a book about getting, and staying, involved with God―what it takes, what it costs, what it looks and feels like, why anyone would want to do it anyway. It is at the same time a book about reading the Old Testament as a source of Good News and guidance for our life with God.” ―from the Introduction to Dr. Davis’s book The first two sessions will be discussions amongst ourselves framed around topics from the book. Dr. Davis will join us for a conversation in the last session when we can get all our questions answered. If you’d like a copy of Dr. Davis’ book Getting Involved with God, you’re invited to purchase yours from your favorite bookseller. Reading the book is not required!
Telling Our Stories
The Chapel
This forum invites those gathered to listen in on the personal faith journeys of our members. Our stories offer a window into who we are, and sharing our stories helps knit us together as a church family. Two presenters each Sunday will reflect on the questions “What was the faith background of your childhood? What have you held on to? What have you discarded?” Time for response from others will be offered.
March 4 Rachel Sauls and Diane Eubanks Hill
March 11 John Rublein and David Heist
March 18 Barbara Rumer and Paula Januzzi-Godfrey
