July Mission Baskets
The mission baskets, located in the side foyer and the Fellowship Hall, collect school supplies for teachers and students in Durham Public Schools. Crayons2Calculators aims to serve the educational and creative needs of students in the Durham Public Schools by providing free school supplies to classroom teachers. Teachers report that they spend on average between $500 to $1000 out of their own pockets to supply their classrooms each year. Questions? See Susan Brooks.
July 10 Minute for Mission
July M4M will be for our mission partner, One World Market. One World Market is a non-profit retail store in Durham where all sales continue to provide a sustainable source of fair pay that helps ensure a living wage for thousands of people in developing areas. OWM was started at WSBC in 1991. Katie Westermann, the new Executive Director, will be the speaker.
Homebound Ministry Sunday
July 24, 12:15 p.m.
Isolation from meaningful community is one of the most difficult challenges as people age. A number of our members who, in the past, were at the center of life at Watts Street, are now unable to get to church. Loneliness threatens their health and well-being. If you are interested in ministry with our homebound members, no matter your age, we invite you to an informal conversation on Sunday, July 24, after worship in the fellowship hall. A snack lunch will be provided. Please see Diane Eubanks Hill with questions.
