As we move through this sacred week, we invite you to join us for these opportunities for worship, reflection, and community.
Palm Sunday, April 2
11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary
We begin our Holy Week journey by waving our palm branches as we remember Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem.
Maundy Thursday, April 6
Maundy Thursday takes its name from the Latin Dies Mandati, the day of the commandment, referring to Jesus’ commandment that the disciples love one another.
5:00 p.m. in the Chapel
A foot washing service will take place in the chapel. This service is especially good for families with young children, but all ages are invited.
5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall
We’ll gather around tables for supper and then a brief service of communion to help us connect with the Maundy Thursday story.
Good Friday, April 7
6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary
Through hymns, reading, silence, and confession, we commemorate the death of Jesus. This service echoes the ancient tradition of Tenebrae with the extinguishing of candles as the Passion story is read. The service ends in darkness, reminding us of Jesus’ death and removal from our sight for three days.
Easter Sunday, April 9
11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary
We gather on the day of the Resurrection, celebrating and anticipating an encounter with the Risen Lord! Everyone is invited to bring fresh flowers for the decorating of the Easter Cross. We’ll ring our Alleluia bells, sing Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus”, and celebrate the baptisms of Richie Freeman, Lucy Hanchey, Wren Sasser, Alayna Smith, Adam Tatum, and CC Van Meter. During the service, we’ll also collect a special Easter Sunday offering for Doctors Without Borders’ efforts to provide earthquake relief in Syria and Turkey.
