Watts Street Baptist Church is delighted to be hosting, “Doing Justice Today”, a forum for congregations in the Durham area focusing on racial justice and healing. The event will be Monday, September 22 from 2-3:30 pm and during this time, we’ll make connections with one another and:
1) Enjoy inspirational music from The Meek Squad (who will also share testimony from their recent protest and arrest at the U.S. Capitol with Bishop William Barber in an effort to protect Medicaid for millions of Americans.
2) Spotlight the efforts of the Moral Monday movement and the NC Poor People’s Campaign (with updates from the Rev. Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove).
3) Learn about Interwoven Congregations, a national nonprofit ministry that seeks to help congregations be agents for racial justice and healing. Executive Director Pat Jackson will introduce the Interwoven Congregations Network – a new, global online platform which will bring together people of faith from across the country to share, learn, collaborate, and mutually encourage one another in our efforts for racial justice and healing.
