The Chancel Choir is the principal choir that regularly sings in worship throughout the year. With approximately 20 to 25 adult singers, the Chancel Choir enhances worship at Watts Street by providing introits; anthems; and, on occasion, extended musical pieces drawing from diverse musical traditions. The choir usually takes a 6-week break in the summer when small groups and soloists provide special music for worship.
Membership in the choir is open to all—from beginning singers to experienced musicians. The group rehearses on Wednesdays from 7:30-9:00 p.m. and meets for a brief time before worship on Sunday mornings. The Chancel Choir is directed by Melody Zentner and accompanied by Tom Bloom.
